WEEK 2 (FYP 2)

Activity: Meeting Supervisor to Start FYP

This week is a first meeting with my supervisor after came back from semester break. In this week, i already start searching and surveying about the component that needed to buy before start doing the hardware and other thing that need to be bought for the prototype.

We continue discussing about what need to do first after this. So he heard back the idea before suggesting what need to do.Supervisor discuss about the goals, timing, and detailed project planning and management to get the project in right track. she give an advice to take time to pinpoint what issue of the project plan and divide it into a few part. The most critical part should be done first to avoid some problem that can make the project delayed. If the problem occur, it will prevent the whole project from being completed on time.
Make a project schedule and start buying component for the hardware part of the project.

He want to see the half of the circuit diagram was been constructed in the breadboard. After that, he ask to search the example coding to measure the temperature, voltage, and  respiration rate.

WEEK 1 (FYP 2)

Activity: Detail of the Project

The first week of new semester is begin. So the progress project from FYP 1 must be continue in order to finish the last semester.

In FYP 1, my project was only focused on the ideas of the project that I did not develop more details to other parts of the project such as the input and the output of the respiration. This semester I should’ve focused on the hardware, as the project should be presented wholly. So, the project of Development of Respiration Rate Measurement Using Temperature Sensor is officially start.

Tittle: Development of Real Time Respiration Rate Measurement Using Temperature Sensor

My project is about
  • Respiration rate is the number of breath in one minute.
  • Sensor will detect the number of breathing and microcontroller will calculate the respiration rate.
  • This system using temperature sensor to detect the temperature in order to measure the respiration rate.
  • The data will be transferred via IoT and respiration rate can be monitored.

Problem statement
  • The respiration measurement only can be done in medical center and cannot be monitored daily at home.
  • The normal measurement of respiration rate can only be recorded in the hospital and cannot be monitored distantly.
  • Current respiration measurement device is bulky.
Objective
  • To develop a low-cost respiration measurement and user friendly.
  • To design a system that can identify normal and abnormal for respiration problem.
  • To design a system that can send the data recorded to the doctor immediately via IoT.
